Butte College running back Takeshi Faupula officially signed his letter of intent to play for the D1 New Mexico Lobos during a ceremony held at Butte College on December 4.
A standout sophomore from Yuba City, California, Faupula rushed for 928 yards on 143 carries in 10 games, averaging an impressive 6.5 yards per carry. He scored seven touchdowns, including a long rush of 65 yards, and added 75 receiving yards on 10 catches. His outstanding performance earned him first-team all-conference honors.
Upon signing, he reflected: "This success is more than just me...It's something that I hope everyone is proud of in this room."
Speaking about his team and coaches at Butte College, he said, "one thing I've learned here is that if you want to be great, there is one path, and these guys have shown me how to be great on and off the field."
